COVID
Hutia te rito o te harakeke
Kei hea te kōmako e kō?
Whakatairangitia, rere ki uta, rere ki tai;
Ui mai ki ahau,
He aha te mea nui o te ao?
Māku e kī atu,
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
If you remove the central shoot of the flax bush
Where will the bellbird find rest?
Will it fly inland, fly out to sea, or fly aimlessly?
If you were to ask me, what is the most important thing in the world?
I will tell you,
It is people, it is people, it is people.
COVID traffic light system
Awakening the Taniwha is open at all levels of the government’s traffic light system.
We have taken the hauora - health, safety and wellbeing of our tangata - staff, interns and members of the public into consideration, and thought carefully about how we can run events and safely deliver a fulfilling convivial experience.
We require all in-person event attendees, aged 14 and over, to pre-register here, and present their My Vaccine Pass at the start of each event that they are attending. Events have a max of 6 attendees, as per the government’s guidelines.
Children under 14 should be accompanied by a guardian.
We have this policy in place so that we can continue to do what we love and operate as safely as possible while protecting the health of our communities.
At the Red level of the traffic light system, our doors will be closed to the general public while events are taking place. We will open for drop-in visits outside of the events Wednesday - Sunday 11:30 am – 7 pm.
During Orange and Green levels, when we are open 11:30 am - 7 pm Wednesday - Sunday to the general public, without the need to sight vaccine passports.
We will review our policy in light of any new government mandates and guidelines, and as the situation evolves.
Remote joining:
We are in the process of creating the options to join remotely online and/or have access to our resources so that if you have chosen not to get the vaccine, or do not feel comfortable participating in publicly accessible events at this time, you can still participate.
Click & Collect:
You can also request a material pack by emailing us at Linda@SharedLines.org.nz and we will prepare a contactless pickup for you.
We respect your personal choice as to whether or not you get the vaccine, and we ask that you respect ours.
Scanning/signing in: This is a requirement at all levels of the traffic light system.
Masks and social distancing: At Orange and Red levels, masks will be required in all areas of our space. Events have a max of 6 attendees, based on capacity limits as per the government’s guidelines.
We have set up stations in the space so that social distancing can easily be achieved whilst learning and creating.
At Green, mask-wearing and social distancing is encouraged.
Be kind and keep safe.
Kia wairua, kia ora tou noho.
